Connect your custom domain to create branded short links that build trust and reinforce your brand with every click.

Link Shortener with custom domains

Custom branded links are quick and simple to setup, to allow you to create a branded customer experience for your end users wishing to click your link. Adding this branding option, gives them reassurance the link looks safe and familiar.

By using custom domains within your short links, help you and your brand stay clean and consistent with your website domain that your customers know and love! It is best practice, and we advise, that you use your own domain instead of the default one out of the box. It means every link you share looks like it comes from your brand. It feels better for your customers and it keeps trust high. I think most teams switch to it once they see the difference.

How do I add a custom domain to LinkShortener?

Once you have created an account, simply login and click "Custom Domains from the left-hand menu bar. Now click the top right action button titled "New Custom Domain".

All you now need to do is add name for domain, this is for internal account purposes and won't be shown anywhere else. And now the domain you wish us to import.

How do I know if my custom domain is verified?

One you have correctly added your custom domain, and the DNS records match you will see this:

User interface showing a custom domain list with one domain named LinkShortener.uo, full URL links.linkshortener.io, both verified and active with green checkmarks, and a button labeled New Custom Domain.

How custom domains work?

You choose a domain or subdomain that you want to use for your links. After that, you add one small DNS record. It only takes a moment. Once it is connected, every short link you create uses your domain. It keeps things tidy. It also helps when you send links in email or SMS because people know it is safe.

Why brands use custom domains?

A custom domain helps you look consistent. It keeps all channels aligned, which can help people recognise you faster. It also reduces link friction because people see your brand name instead of a random domain. That small detail tends to raise trust, which helps with clicks. It works well for marketing teams that care about detail.

Control and flexibility

You can add one or several custom domains. It depends on how you work. Some brands want a domain for each region. Some want one for each team. Others just want a single clean domain for everything. You can switch between them when you create links. It takes a second and helps keep your work structured.

Brand consistency

A custom domain keeps your links tidy across channels. Email, SMS, social, and print all use the same look. Your customers get used to seeing the same format and styling from branded domains and the domains they know and love. A non-branded short link could give customers concern on clicking. It builds a steady pattern that feels clear and familiar.

What you can customise?

You can set the domain name, use HTTPS, and pick how you want each link to appear. It gives you enough control without making things complicated.

Get started

You can add a custom domain in a few steps. Connect it in your DNS panel, then confirm it inside your account. After that, every link you create sits under your brand. It is simple and worth doing early because it keeps everything neat from the start.
